01 / The invitation

More people.
More possibility.

A great session needs someone welcoming players. A great story needs someone listening. A new opportunity needs someone making the connection.

JOGA’s Founding Crew is a proposed first team of players, youth leaders, organizers, creatives, and community builders. Bring a skill you have—or one you want to develop—and take responsibility for something that matters.

06months for a lead cycle
04pillars. One community.
02 / Choose your commitment

A place to start.
Room to grow.

Give time, skills, equipment, space, services, funding—or a mix. Your membership reflects an agreed contribution and its responsibilities. Your working role is separate. These are community-building titles, open to players and non-players; they do not mean selection for a playing team or enrollment in a coaching academy.

  • Receive: founder planning, leadership credit, and authority within an agreed scope
  • Rules: monthly progress review, approved budget, clear task ownership, and a handover
  • A lead can also earn JOGA OG recognition by meeting its separate requirements
Step up as Captain ↗

Proposed structure for review. Hours and posting targets are starting expectations to agree before joining. Roles must state compensation or voluntary status, support, and expenses before work begins. Funding and resources do not buy ownership, selection privileges, or leadership authority. No fixed donation amount is set in this draft.

Time / skills / resources / funding

Different ways.
Real contribution.

Time: help run a session or complete an operations task. Skills: create a film, design a campaign, scout under an approved lead, or improve the site. Resources: offer usable equipment, approved space, transport services, or professional support. Funding: support an agreed program need. JOGA accepts contributions based on actual needs and agrees scope, delivery, conditions, and recognition in writing. A promise, follower count, or self-assigned value does not establish membership.

The OG commitment

Your name on it.
Your effort behind it.

For members of the designated launch cohort who complete the agreed contribution and review. OG applicants begin a six-month commitment; the title is earned at the 90-day review, not when the form is filled out. The cohort closing date will be set before applications open.

  • Bio mention: once recognized, add “JOGA NYC · Founding Member” and tag the approved JOGA account or link joganyc.com in your primary social bio while active.
  • Share the work: repost at least two approved JOGA posts to your Story per month, on separate occasions. Tag JOGA and retain the original message and credits. If no suitable posts are supplied, agree an alternative with the team.
  • Contribute consistently: deliver the monthly time or skill commitment, or the agreed resource or funding milestones. A completed one-time contribution can count; representation and check-ins continue through the six-month cycle.
  • Stay connected: join a monthly check-in or send a short update. Flag missed commitments early and agree a catch-up or pause.
  • Respect personal boundaries: private-account, no-social, employer, accessibility, and youth circumstances can use a written alternative agreed before joining—such as approved offline promotion or preparing content for JOGA’s own channels. Youth are never required to make an account public.
  • Keep status clear: the 90-day review confirms recognition; the six-month review renews, changes, or pauses active membership. Past contribution credit remains factual, while active titles and bio language must match current status.
03 / Find your role

Bring what you do.
Build what you love.

From scouting and player pathways to social media, merchandise, partnerships, and operations: every part of JOGA needs people who care. Choose a starting role or suggest your own; we’ll agree the actual scope together.

26 ways to contribute

04 / Give something. Grow something.

Recognition.
Experience. A voice.

Recognition should match what you contribute and the responsibilities you accept. Public community opportunities remain open under their normal event terms.

05 / From interest to impact

Show up.
Make it official.

Recognition follows contribution. We agree the expectations first, check in along the way, and review the work together.

01 /

Apply & connect

Tell us your interests, availability, and why JOGA matters to you. The team reviews fit and current capacity, then arranges a conversation where there’s a match.

02 /

Agree your role

Choose a membership type, contribution, named contact, and delivery plan. Confirm timing, support, conditions, and any compensation or expenses. OG applicants agree the six-month pledge and representation rules.

03 /

Build for 90 days

First Team and OG applicants contribute against their 90-day plan and check in monthly. Club Backers are recognized when agreed support is accepted and received; their delivery schedule is recorded separately.

04 /

Review & grow

Review actual contributions, communication, conduct, and tier-specific rules. Confirm, adjust, or pause membership. JOGA OGs and Captains review their ongoing commitment at six months; no automatic upgrade follows a payment or elapsed time.

A supported pathway / proposed ages 14–17

Youth leaders.
Real voice. Real support.

Young people should help shape the spaces they play in. Youth Leaders follow the same three-month recognition pathway with lighter, age-appropriate responsibilities and an adult mentor.

  • Your contribution: welcome peers alongside an adult, gather ideas, contribute to approved stories, or help design a youth-led activity.
  • Your rhythm: approximately 1–2 hours a month, agreed around school, family, and football.
  • Your support: a named adult, guardian permission before participation, and clear communication channels.
  • Your boundaries: no independent supervision of children, handling payments, access to private player records, or unapproved outreach.
  • Your recognition: Youth Leader title after review, a record of completed contributions, and founding recognition if you qualify for the first cohort.
06 / The standard we share

Care for the game.
Care for each other.

A title means something when the people behind it can be trusted. These expectations apply across the crew.

01 / Follow through

Agree on realistic tasks. Be on time, communicate changes early, and ask for help before a problem grows.

02 / Keep access open

Welcome every background and ability. No favoritism by club, connections, or follower count. No harassment or discrimination.

03 / Respect boundaries

Follow safeguarding and consent procedures. Keep player information private and use approved channels for youth communication.

04 / Represent responsibly

Get approval before publishing as JOGA, promising a partnership, spending money, or using the brand for outside projects.

05 / Make the work clear

Agree deliverables, credit, image permissions, expenses, and compensation before starting. Record contributions honestly.

06 / Leave with care

You can pause or step back. Give notice where possible and hand over ongoing work. Concerns are reviewed fairly; serious misconduct may lead to removal.

07 / Before you apply

A few good questions.

Clear expectations from the first conversation.

Do I have to pay to become a member?

No payment is required for Academy or First Team membership. Club Backers may offer resources, services, or funding. JOGA OGs can qualify through time and skills as well as accepted resources or funding, alongside their representation commitment. No fixed financial threshold is proposed; the team agrees a useful contribution before acceptance.

Is this a job or a volunteer program?

This is a proposed contributor structure, not a job offer. Each available role must state its paid or voluntary status, responsibilities, expenses, and support before anyone begins. No one should be asked to work for a vague promise of future pay.

Can I apply without experience or a big following?

Yes. Reliability, care for the community, and willingness to learn matter. Creative samples are optional. Tell us what you can do now and what you want to develop.

Can I be a Youth Leader and a JOGA OG?

Yes, under this proposal. Youth Leader describes your supported role. JOGA OG recognition also requires the launch-cohort contribution, review, and an age-appropriate representation plan. Guardian permission and adult support come first; private or offline promotion alternatives are agreed in advance.

Does everyone become official after three months?

Recognition follows a review, not just time passing. The review looks at the responsibilities agreed at the start, communication, conduct, and completed work. If plans need to change, we discuss an adjustment, extension, or respectful exit.

Can I lead immediately or help only occasionally?

You can express leadership interest immediately. Appointment depends on experience, project needs, and a scope agreed with the founder. If a recurring commitment doesn’t fit, choose Community interest and tell us how you’d like to help occasionally.

What happens after six months?

Review the project and your capacity. Renew the role, choose a different contribution, mentor someone new, or hand it over. Founding recognition records verified early contributions. Active JOGA OG status requires a renewed contribution and representation plan; anyone stepping back should update their bio to “JOGA NYC founding cohort” or remove the active title. Captain authority also ends or changes with the agreed role.

Will membership get me selected for a team or Talent ID?

No. Player opportunities use their own criteria and capacity. Crew membership is about building the community and does not buy or guarantee sporting access.

08 / Your chapter starts here

Put your hand up.

Tell us what you can contribute—time, skills, resources, funding, or a combination—and the membership you would like to work toward.

  1. Choose a membership and contribution.
  2. Tell us about yourself and your idea.
  3. Review your application draft.

Proposed application process: team review → introductory conversation → agreed role → onboarding. Applying would express interest, not confirm acceptance.

Application preview. Applications are not open yet. You can complete this form, review your answers, and download a draft. Nothing is sent to JOGA or saved by this page.
