Matías Ruiz and Juan Carpio became the first two players from the JOGA NYC × Met Oval Talent ID to officially join Met Oval SSU U16. Their signings gave the event a concrete outcome and showed what can happen when evaluation is connected to an actual club pathway.
The moment did not begin with a promise. It began with an invitation to compete. Both players had to show their quality in the session, enter the evaluation process and earn the next step. Other participants were also accepted into parts of the wider Met Oval pathway.
Their progress is a useful model for future JOGA events: create access, make the standard clear and allow performance to decide what happens next. The signing is the headline, but the opportunity began with a place on the field.
